The route

The route starts at Campo California or near where I can obtain the donkeys in Southern California. The Pacific Crest Trail can be done in one season only if you start from South to North, so I'll start in April and hopefully end by September so I can then take the Oregon National Historical Trail East to reach the Rockies Continental Divide National Trail going south to Mexico. By the way, I have no ego attached to starting at Campo and reaching the Canadian border. I'll start where I can with the donkeys, and based on timing will decide if I pursue above the Columbia River to later back-track or just angle right on the Oregon Trail ... or reach the Pacific Northwest National Scenic trail to reach the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. I would love to do the whole trail and the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trail is highly recommended, but winter and events will dictate the route.

In 2014 I should be crossing Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and climbing into Columbia. Then in 2015 Ecuador and Peru should lead me to Chile where I plan to stop at Puerto Montt, where another journey will start on the prototype of a commercially viable Yacht that I am designing, the prototype of a totally self sufficient energy free self powered autonomous catamaran sailboat. A proof of concept this boat could become a commercialized Yacht in the future.

Historical and Nature trails of western & central America
These trails throughout America, both renewed and old historical trails, carry with them "the american dream" of the pioneers, the native American population's lore and our new "ecological" awareness.

The PCT above is in Green from Mexican border to Canada. The Oregon National Historic Trail in brown joins the Green Continental Divide trail in Wyoming going south to the border just west of El Passo (Juarez).
